Sarah Gollust, PhD
Associate Professor
Division of Health Policy & Management
Hear Dr. Gollust discuss communication challenges in public health, when the mass information environment is characterized by competition, controversy, and politicization. She will discuss this context using the case study of communicating about breast cancer overdiagnosis, drawing from a multi-method study using news media content analysis, national surveys, and a 2019 survey-based experiment testing the effects of media coverage of breast cancer screening on public attitudes about breast cancer.
