Shili Lin, of the Department of Statistics at The Ohio State University, will present:
“Investigating Relationships of Multiomics and their Roles in Complex Traits”
Abstract: Multiomics data are nowadays produced routinely for scientific investigations, leading to numerous questions about their relationships and their roles in complex traits. In this talk, I will touch on a number of issues related to rare genetic variants, expression quantitative trait loci, DNA methylation, and 3-dimensional chromatin structures. In addition to understanding relationships among the multiple types of omics data, I will also describe work employing state-of-the-art statistical methods to ascertain their roles in complex diseases such as age-related macular degeneration, metabolic syndrome, and glioma.
Refreshments will be served prior to the seminar. All are welcome.
