“Opportunities for Statisticians in Industry & Academia”

Abstract: Before joining Medtronic in 2017 I was a professor of statistics & biostatistics for 17 years in a mathematics department, biostatistics department, and statistics department. In this talk I will discuss differences between industry and academia: expectations, typical work involved, and salary. I will also discuss differences between types of statistics departments. In particular, a typical week will be discussed.
