The SPH Equity, Diversity & Inclusion Team (EDIT) invites all Students, Faculty and Staff to join us for an open dialogue around these topics, to help build an open space within the SPH community to bring questions and concerns. For this session we will watch a brief talk on Ted.com by Tony Porter, “A Call to Men” during the first fifteen minutes, and spend the rest of the hour discussing this topic.

Tony Porter is an educator and activitist who is internationally recognized for his effort to end violence against women. At TEDWomen in 2010, he makes a call to men everywhere: Don’t “act like a man.” Telling powerful stories from his own life, he shows how this mentality, drummed into so many men and boys, can lead men to disrespect, mistreat and abuse women and each other. His solution: Break free of the “man box.”
