TED Speaker Simon Tam will join us by Zoom for this event.
The SPH Equity, Diversity & Inclusion Team (EDIT) invites all Students, Faculty and Staff to join us for an open dialogue around these topics, to help build an open space within the SPH community to bring questions and concerns.
Racism in America is a polarizing topic in our country. It is not an easy conversation for most people and without the conversations there are ongoing race related issues in our society. Simon shares several examples and experiences that are conversation starters.
Tam is an activist, dedicated to raising awareness of racial disparities, social justice, and issues that affect the Asian American community. In 2013, Tam took a case against the United States Patent and Trademark Office to Federal Courts on the grounds of being denied rights based on his race.
Feel free to bring your lunch! Microwave and beverages are available.
