This presentation will describe a new health claims data source (MarketScan) available, for free, through the Academic Health Center. The presentation will describe the MarketScan data resource as well as the benefits and limitations of using health claims data sources for research. Applications of research projects which have been completed using MarketScan data will also be presented to provide examples of the types of projects which can be supported through this data resource.
