“Nothing about me without me” has been the motto of advocates for shared decision-making and patient-centered care. Yet, research on how to implement shared decision-making does not consider the perspective key patient groups. Millennial women, in particular, are missing from research on health care decision-making preferences, despite experiencing gender bias in health care delivery. In a work-in-progress presentation, Priyanka Desai will present preliminary themes from a qualitative study on the health care decision-making preferences of millennial women in Minnesota.
