James R. Johnson, MD is Professor of Medicine at the University of Minnesota and directs the Molecular Epidemiology Unit at the Minneapolis VA Medical Center where he is an Infectious Diseases consultant. His research interests include molecular pathogenesis of urinary tract infections, and the molecular epidemiology of antibiotic resistance in E. coli. He also researches virulence properties, ecology, and phylogenetic aspects of uropathogenic E. coli
