The Center for Public Health Systems (CPHS) supports public health practitioners and public health systems using evidence-based research.
We provide direct services via technical assistance, research, and evaluation in partnership with health departments across the U.S. We also conduct innovative research on public health workforce, finance, infrastructure, and policy both on the national level and in collaboration with Minnesota’s public health system.

Feather LaRoche
Feather LaRoche is the Native American Student Outreach & Services Coordinator at the Center for Public Health Systems (CPHS) and for the Public Health Administration and Policy (PHAP) MPH Program. Feather’s work centers on the goal of inspiring the next generation of Native public health leaders.
Most recently, Feather helped develop the Native American Public Health Modules; interactive lessons designed for middle and high school students that connect culture, wellness, and career pathways. “Our people have always practiced public health,” Feather explains, “we just called it culture. These modules show our youth that their traditions already carry the knowledge to keep communities strong and that public health can be a powerful career path.”
Feather will be sharing these modules at the 2025 National Tribal Health Conference (NIHB) and the 2025 UTTC Tribal Leaders Summit, inviting Tribal leaders, educators, and health professionals to bring them into their classrooms, youth councils, and community programs.
