Our four distinct degree types and numerous dual-degree and program minor offerings cover the entire range of today’s prevalent public health topics. Through rigorous education, students leave UMN ready to take on the challenges of a rapidly changing world.

Master of Public Health (MPH)

Executive (Working Professionals) Degrees

For mid-career students who have at least 2-3 years work experience in a public health or health care setting. Our executive programs blend online coursework with intensive in-person courses, allowing for flexibility in your continued learning.

Doctoral (PhD)

4+1 Degrees

For undergraduate students who are currently enrolled at the University of Minnesota. The programs allow students to combine a MPH or MS degree with their BA or BS degree in just one additional year of coursework.


Dual degree programs provide students with comprehensive skills and training that complement any public health education and practice. The MPH degree may be completed online and students from other institutions may apply to our MPH degree program. We will be glad to work your curriculum at your institute.
